Registering and updating users and teams

Registering a new application user

To prepare a new forecast calculation in GMCModel you need to log in to the application with your account. Should you not have the account, you can create it. Click your mouse in top right corner on the icon "User Login", when а dialog window opens click the "Register a new user" link:

In the screen "User profile" enter information about yourself (mandatory fields are marked with a red asterisk) and click the toolbar button "Register":

If the entered data passes validations including login and email uniqueness, a new user account is registered and you log in to the application.

You can always change any user detail except the login.

Joining an existing team

Users can combine their efforts in finding an optimal decision. The calculation made in a scope of some team are visible to all members of that team. Every team consists of one or more members. Every user is a member of one Personal team and any number (zero and more) of Group teams. To join an existing team one should click toolbar button "Join team" of the screen "User Profile" and in the popup dialog box enter an Invitation Code received from the team manager (leader):

If the Invitation code is correct, the user is added in to the team. Since then the user can access the previously prepared calculations create new calculations visible by other team members.

The checkbox "Default team" chooses a team in which the new calculations are created. A user can any time assign as default any team they are in. To do so, first click the context menu selector of the team's row in the table "The teams I'm in" and then from the popup menu select "Make as default team":

Registering a new team

Besides joining existing teams, a user can create new ones. To do so click the toolbar button "Register team" in the screen "User profile" and enter the new team's name and description in the opened dialog box:

If the team name is not already used by somebody else, the team is created.

For other users to join the team, they must be told the invitation code generated by the application. To find out the the code, click the context menu selector of the team's row in the table "The teams I'm in" and then from the popup menu select "Get Invitation Code":

The user who created a team becomes the team manager (leader). A team manager can:

  • remove themselves and other team members from the team. To do that right-click mouse button on the row with the selected user on the table "Members of the selected team".
  • grant or revoke manager permission to other team members. To doc that click left-mouse button on the column Manager of the table "Members of the selected team" and then click the toolbar button "Save changes".
